Thank you for using “The Recipes”. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains in simple terms what information we collect and how we use it.

• Local Use: You don’t need an account to use the application. All your recipes are saved directly on your device.
• Cloud Use (Optional): If you choose to sign in, your recipes will be synchronized in the cloud so you can access them from other devices.
• Your Data, Your Control: We don’t share your personal information with third parties. You have full control to delete your account and all your cloud data at any time from the application.

What information do we collect?

1. Anonymous use (without signing in):
   We don’t collect any personally identifiable information if you use the application without creating an account. Your recipes are stored only on your device.
2. When you sign in with Google (Optional):
   If you decide to create an account to synchronize your recipes, we offer the option to sign in with Google. By doing so, we request access to the following information from your Google account:
   • Full name
   • Email address
   • Profile picture

This information is used solely to create and manage your account within the application and is stored securely on Appwrite. For more information about their privacy policies, visit https://appwrite.io/privacy.

How do we use your information?

• For application functionality: We use your account data to identify you and to synchronize your recipes in the cloud (Appwrite), allowing you to have a backup and access from multiple devices.
• We don’t do anything else with your data: We will not sell, distribute, or share your personal information with third parties. We will not send you marketing emails or promotions.

Control over your data and account deletion

You have full control over your data. From the application settings, you can:

• Delete your account: This action will permanently delete your profile information (name, email, photo) and all recipes you have synchronized in the cloud. This action is irreversible.

Application permissions on Android

The application requests the following permissions to function properly:

• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to connect to our servers and synchronize your recipes if you’re signed in.
• Other permissions like com.francids.recipes.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION are technical system permissions to ensure the application’s integrity and its proper communication with the Android operating system.

Transparency and Open Source

“The Recipes” is an open-source application. We believe in total transparency, so you can review our source code at any time to verify how we handle your data.
